My hair is a dark brown and i want to colour it blonde so the hairstylist told me i should go for highlights......im just wonderdering will it come out blonde or brown?

Blonde. For sure. I have dark brown hair and got blonde highlights too. They looks perfectly blonde, there's no interference what so ever, so no need to worry =D

If a stylist does it then it will come out blonde. If you do it and use a blonde with the wrong undertone then you could turn out orange/pink/gray. If you are going to do it yourself, I recommend calling her and asking what undertones you should look for with your hair. Like ash blone, golden, platnium, there are so many shades and so many tones. Don't just buy the one you like the best, make sure it won't turn your hair orange first!

I got my dark brown hair streaked and the streaks came out almost platinum blond. It looked far better than I thought it would. She's right. I did mine once and it turned crappy orange.

Dark hair takes awhile to lift to blonde. She probably recommended highlights to avoid damaging your hair with bleach or maybe just to see if you even liked the blonde and to try it out first. Depending on the intensity of the blonde that you want, it may take 2 trips to the salon to get it just right and to avoid damaging the cuticle.

if you ask for highlight you can choose the color of the highlights...since your hair is dark brown you should recommend lowlight becaue they arent ask "bright" as highlights...lowlights also blend into your dark brown hair better ..it has a more natural look instead of a look that looks like big fashion dont.
