I put red highlights in my hair.........?

I put permanent red streaks in my hair about 2 days ago. I waited 48 hours (like the box said) and then took a shower. When I got out and my hair dryed, they barely noticible. Did I do something wrong??

What color was your hair to begin with? If it was ANY darker than the shade you added, it should have been bleached 1st.

Try waiting another 6 weeks then bleach one day, and re-dye the next.

It's hard to say if you did anything wrong or not. It depends on what your haircolor is that you're trying to add red to.

Obviously, the "wrong" shade will blend into your hair and won't be noticeable. Also, red is a color that's hard to keep and fades easily. If your hair IS a shade so that the red SHOULD be noticeable, it may take more than one application for it to "take". I have (colored) red hair myself and know that it's hard to both get into and out of your hair.

If all else fails, go to a salon that specializes in color and have it done, then ask how you can maintain the streaks yourself.

Perhaps. Either bleach it first if you have dark hair or consider another brand. Know anyone else who has done it and is happy with the results? It's actually difficult to find a brand that will really stay with you, even if you do bleach. If you're gonna do it right, it's best to have a stylist do it for you as they are more familiar with what type of inuendos your hair speicifically generates and how to chemically respond.
