What colour highlights to go in dark brown hair?

I have a quite dark brown colour hair naturaly but i have been getting blonde highlights in it for as long as i can remember and it appears overall blonde, but i am going back to my natural colour for something different and new and i was wondering what highlight colours you would suggest to give it a little extra colour and make it more interesting then a plain brown.

i would say a highlight that is a few shades lighter then ur original hair color, so it isnt blonde, but its a neutral color..

also if ur hair is super drk brwn ..like black looking, u can do red highlights.. they wont show in the shade, but when the sun hits it just right u will see..

and when u do the red highlights.. do like a darker red.. not bright red
